Assessment 1 Part A Details and Instructions

This task is designed to provide feedback early in the Trimester. The purpose of this assessment is for students to demonstrate understanding of political ideology and the different policy positions held by political parties in Australia.

Select two Australian political parties and select an election promise made by each one of them, and then provide an analysis of each election promise within the 500-word limit, i.e. write 250-words analysing each election promise.

Ensure your analyses:

• Covers two election promises made by two different Australian political
• Describes for each promise the social problem that the promised policy, program or funding is intended to
• Describes the philosophy of government of each of the political parties that you have
• Describes the political ideology underpinning of the election promises that you have

You do not need to include an introduction or conclusion in this assessment task.
