Part 1: Mock Data Meeting Student:Jennifer Grade:7 Test Administered:Qualitative Reading Inventory Month Administered:November Information regarding the Assessment:Qualitative Reading Inventory (QRI) assessments measure a student's reading level, comprehension, word identification, accuracy, and fluency (Reading Rockets, n.d.). Reading Level:Jennifer is two grade levels behind seventh grade.She shows strength in retelling the main idea and providing key details. Jennifer shows difficulty in putting key details in sequence order. Word identification:Jennifer struggled with unknown words within the passage.She would pronounce the first sound in the unknown word, then say a word she already knows with the same letters. Comprehension:Jennifer excels at explicit questions, answering all four correctly.She struggles with implicit questions, answering only one correctly. Fluency:Jennifer does not show expression while reading and reads in pieces. Accuracy:Jennifer's reading accuracy showed that she omitted and substituted different sounds and words.This placed her at a low instructional reading level, which was 90% Initial analysis:Jennifer is eager to learn and always participating in both whole group and small group. Collaborative questions:Is Jennifer getting pre-exposed to new vocabulary or unknown words? Are we asking the right questions while she reads to help her better comprehend the text?(Scholastic Questions Stem). What reading material is being used to help grow her in small groups? (Reading A to Z, CommonLit, ReadThoery, ReadWorks). Have we tried weekly fluency assessments over a passage she has read all week?Assess on Monday and then again on Friday to see any growth.
