EGCC ACC 103 Discussion #1 Ethics is the rationale that we use for our moral justifications. Ethics or the principles that use to guide us to make good decisions. They play an important role in our personal and professional lives. Ethics is integrity, conscience, honesty, honor, and honesty. Three factors that might affect good and ethical or is still around there's still behavior or culture, education, and personal values that a person may have. I also feel that opportunity may play a role in ethical behavior. Ethics differ from person to person family influences and education or the starting points for developing good ethics. "People interpret ethics in various ways and apply their interpretations to their personal and work lives." (Smyth, 2022) Confidentiality is an important ethical component of working in the accounting field because, "failure to keep information confidential could result in bad publicity and possible defamation of the company or personal." (Leonard, 2019) Failure to maintain ethical confidentaiality can also open the door to illegal activities such as such as fraud and identity theft.
