Understanding Stakeholders and Ethical Decision Making in a

Initial Post: March 27, 2023 Hello Everyone, Going into week two of this class, I was a bit nervous. The subject material got a bit harder, and I was unable to attend the optional seminar this week. Despite this apprehension, I did eventually take a look at the options for this week's discussions. I opened my book and was pleasantly surprised to see a scenario I could relate to. I am the Supervisor of the Millwork and Paint departments at a Home Depot and am completely responsible for the well-being of those departments, so I could relate to Jan and the issues they faced because they also manage a department. This small similarity sparked my interest and motivated me to dive into this discussion assignment. Who are the potential stakeholders involved in this situation? When assessing the scenario from a business perspective, it appears that most of the potential stakeholders involved in this situation are primarily internal. The first person I can identify with a stake in the standings of the company is Jan Wooten as they are the Head of the Molding Department. The state of the department reflects directly on them whether it reflects well or reflects poorly. I would also identify Tony Ferneti as an internal stakeholder as they are the control inspector and exist to ensure that products produced pass inspection and meet needs. The final internal stakeholder I would identify is the current and future employees of the business because the business's success directly impacts their pay. Though there are fewer internal stakeholders to list in this situation, there are still a few general groups worth noting for the sake of completion. The first external stakeholder I always consider first is the customers as they rely on the business for their goods.
