In actuality, Smart was trying to remain strong from the stress and pressure from the trial (Roig-Franzia, 2019). After the trial concluded, and Pamela was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, numerous television specials and movies were created to showcase her story (Voeglein, 2021). However, when Pamela attempted to rebuke the information in those specials as false and misleading, this solidified the audience's view that she was guilty.
