Context
This assessment introduces the student to concepts of health and illness from a personal view as well as that of their communities. Students will reflect on perception, attitudes and values and consider this in relation to their future role as a health professional.
Understanding individual and community knowledge, attitudes and values about health and illness are critical in developing appropriate and effective nursing care and health services.
Instructions:
Task 1: Watch and Reflect
Watch the 3 videos provided (Video 1: David, Video 2: Rhonda, Video 3: Theo) and choose one to base your reflection on. The video and subject (person/health issue) selected will also be used in Assessment 2 and Assessment 3.
Take note of how you feel and any thoughts or questions that come to mind when watching the video.

- Consider each determinant listed below for your chosen character (David, Theo or Rhonda).
- Add each of the five (5) determinants into the reflective wheel as the five (5) main categories of your
