Description:

  • Part A:

The purpose of this task is to create a presentation exploring a current food issue related to public health.

So, the tutor will create a PowerPoint slides and Word dec that has what I will speak to explain the slides in 3 minutes

The presentation includes:

  • What is the food issue?
  • How does it link more broadly to public health concerns
  • How do the current structures (food systems, laws/regulations etc) and community behaviour (cultural spects, food behaviour, living conditions etc) link to the food issue
  • Embedding public health theory to explain the relationship with the food issue, public health and future food systems.

Presentation criteria as follows:

  • The digital video presentation follows a logical sequence. The audio and visuals provide a clear identification of the food issue you are investigating and its relationship with the global food system and public health concerns.
  • Clarification of the factors that underpin the food issue and how this relates to public health concerns.
  • Identification of appropriate public health theory that clarifies why addressing the food systems is critical to supporting public health now and in the future.
  • Describe how the food issue being investigated has shaped and/or shapes food systems at the regional, national and global level.
  • presentation is clear, with correct spelling, grammar and referencing
  • Part B:

You will write a Case study report (1500 word maximum) which will provide a critical summary of the current situation on the food issue outlined in Part A and identify approaches on how it may be improved to achieve public health goals in the future.

Note the word limit does not include the Reference List or any Appendices.

Report criteria as follows:

  • Comprehensive identification of the current food issue (allocated) on a specific population and its relationship with the local/national/global food system.
  • Appraisal of approaches (supportable by ethical frameworks) inclusive of key strengths, weaknesses and aspects that need to be addressed.
  • Demonstrated understanding of systemic changes required for strengthening food security such as within food production, policy/regulation or capacity building.
  • Critical discussion around how individuals or stakeholders can engage with equitable approaches to address the food issue being investigated.
  • Identification of recommendations supported by the critical analysis presented in Part B Assessment criteria 1-5.
  • Report layout, grammar, quality of references, and correct referencing style.
