MGT1ISM Assessment 1: Sport Management Research Literature Review

This assessment required a two-part critical literature review, with Part A involving the creation of a literature summary table based on selected academic articles, and Part B requiring a written synthesis of the identified issues. The task required the selection of one Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) and an exploration of its connection to sport, using scholarly sources to highlight patterns, gaps, or challenges in the literature. To fulfil the requirements, two comprehensive reports were developed addressing SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. Each report critically examined three distinct issues, supported by relevant scholarly articles. Common themes such as the lack of policy integration, challenges in injury prevention, infrastructure limitations, and inequitable distribution of economic benefits were highlighted. Observations and analysis extended beyond author-stated findings to include identified limitations and overlooked considerations. Academic sources were integrated with clarity and critical insight, demonstrating a deep understanding of how sport intersects with broader societal and economic development goals. The assignment was completed in alignment with expected academic standards and referencing requirements.
