Your Task

Students will analyse the financial performance of an ASX listed company. Students will also be assessed on aspects related to investment evaluation.

Group Assessments

Group assessments offer the opportunity to develop these key skills.

All students are expected to contribute to a group assessment. Success is best achieved by harnessing all the relevant skills and knowledge of the group’s members.

Group members are encouraged to communicate and plan prior to the assessment.

Assessment Description

• Students will be provided with the financial statements of an ASX listed company during class.
• The Individual component and the Group component of the assessment will require analysis of this set of financial statements.
• Assessable content is from Weeks 1 to 4, including the weekly workshop content. Students are expected to be familiar with the financial statements of ASX listed companies.
• The assessment is open book and is subject to the Academic Integrity and Conduct Policy.
• Assessment 1 addresses Learning Outcomes 1 and 2 and provides practice for Assessment 2.

Assessment Instructions

Individual component

• Students will analyse the financial performance of an ASX listed company by calculating financial metrics and providing short answer responses.
• 30 minutes are allowed for this component during class time.
• Online students will be required to have cameras on.

Group component

• Students will form groups of 4-5 during Weeks 1 to Lecturers may assist in group formation.
• Students will analyse the financial performance of an ASX listed company by calculating financial metrics and providing multiple choice and short answer responses.
• All students are required to contribute to the assessment yet only a nominated ‘team leader’ submits the responses on behalf of the group. This ensures that there is a single set of responses for each group.
• 2 hours are allowed for this component during class time.
• Online students will be required to have cameras on.
