Task Details: PMBOK Case Study

Project Background: An Australian based IT managed services company is called DEVIT Pty Ltd. They currently provide a range of Websites for external customers using Content Management Systems (CMS) they tend to specialize on Wordpress and Drupal.

They are currently working in various industries and the most recently have been awarded a contract by Doordash unique to Australia (including GST, BAS reporting and ABN) to develop a Website (Extranet) to manage deliveries from restaurant using a car or bike. In Australia there is a requirement to register for ABN and provide BAS reporting.

• Doordash has operation in Australia delivering food from restaurants to local addresses
• The Website is just facilitating the transport There is list of restaurants
• You need to link to DoorDash to transfer the delivery in the form of packing list
• Doordash uses drupal. They prefer DEVIT Pty Ltd uses Drupal

 There is a strict requirement to register for ABN with the Australian Tax Office (ATO)

Project Objective – Appoint your team to implement a website that is re-usable later by other customers but provides for DoorDash to keep track of deliveries.

   It is development project of Content Management System/Extranet website.

   Modules needed are:

• Automated process registration of ABN to the Australian Tax Office
• Products being delivered (i.e., extracted from DoorDash site as transport list)
• Transport Provider details- Unique Id, Business Name and Address
• Australian Business Number
• Mode of transport
  (Car or Bike)
• Link to existing DoorDash Website (the CMS that is used is Drupal) to transfer the picking slip
• Delivery cost details
• GST, BAS reporting interface including business expenses
• Restaurant details including promotions and discounts
• Reports (Transport mode, suburb, restaurant, earnings, etc.)

Desired Outcomes:

• You need to select the Content Management System and development tools. DoorDash has suggested Drupal for the CMS.
• The system needs to be fully available on robust infrastructure in cloud.
• You need to specify the production environment, that DoorDash will provide.
• Set-up resources (development and test environment) and development teams and project management resources.
• It requires advanced security and regular back-up.

Purpose: This assessment will allow students to work as a team of 3 or 4, demonstrate their understanding of the basic concepts of PMBOK, specifically creating a:

• Project Charter
• Scope Statement
• Stakeholder Register
• Risk Treatment Log
• Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
• Schedule [Critical Path Management (CPM), Network and Gantt Chart]
• Budget
• A group team member contribution log (Report)
• Overall Project Plan

You will be supplied with only some limited templates in the tutorials. It is up to your group to supplement and create the overall project plan.
