- Comply with environmental legislation and its intent.

The following scenario applies to Assessment 2, 3 and 4.
Scenario
After working for several years as a sub-contractor developing skills, experience, reputation and contacts in the residential construction industry, you have decided to go the next step and start your own business as a domestic building in Victoria. As part of this process you have recently completed CPC50220 - Diploma of Building and Construction (Building).
In this role you will be carrying out (or managing or arranging the carrying out of) all components of domestic building work for the construction, renovation, improvement or maintenance of a home.
You will be located in the suburb you currently live. You will register the business as a company. You will employ:
- 1 person full time to help administer your business,
- 1 person part-time as a general maintenance person, and
- A number of subcontractors on a project-by-project basis
In starting up your business, you must ensure you establish all the registrations, documentation and business procedures required to comply with the legislation and regulations that apply to your business as a domestic building contractor in Victoria.
You must create the business from scratch to be able to complete this project.
For this task
You will create a draft set of business guidelines that will become the base for formal policies and procedures for the business as outlined in the scenario above.
You will follow the Project Worksheet and respond to questions within the worksheet where specified. Where instructed, complete separate documentation as required, and submit together with the worksheet to complete the project.

Record keeping – document security Create a folder on your computer and use a word processor to create either a single document or multiple documents that collectively present guidelines for ALL the items listed above. Ensure you include reference to the specific legal requirement for each of the items listed above. Ensure each item is laid out in a logical way and is easy to follow. Make regular backups as you work. Output the final document as a PDF and upload with this completed worksheet as directed by your assessor. |
