The crime that I chose was apparent in the scenario and research further is murder, it is defined as the unlawful and usually intentional killing of another human being with malice aforethought.(Adler 2022)When a person knowingly ends another person life, and it is intentional it falls into the murder classification which is the most heinous crime and labeled as the worst and most violent crime committed.The term Mens Rea in often many times linked to murder with the definition of "guilty mind" with awareness of wrongdoing, and the intent to commit a criminal act or behave recklessly.There are different types of murder for example; First degree, second degree, and capital murder third degree only exist in three states Pennsylvania, Florida, and Minnesota.First-degree murder is the most serious form of murder, and in California, any murders that are committed with intent and premeditation are classified as a first degree. (Manshoory Law 2022) According to National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) murder is classified as a violent crime, that a person with no regards to human life would commit. The UCR classifies murder as a Part I crime. Murder or homicideis commonly referred to as "the most serious harm one human being can inflict on another"(Adler 2022). NIBRS specifically defines murder as the "willful killing of another" (NIBRS2022).Offenders that would potentially commit this type of crime are violent offenders who are animalistic and do not see the person as human life but as just another crime to be made. Most sociological theories consider murder an outcome of the differential distribution of individual, neighborhood, or social characteristics. And while such studies explain variation in aggregate homicide rates, they do not explain the social order of murder, that is, who kills whom, when, where, and for what reason.(Papachristos, 2022)In theory society as a whole cannot understand the aspect of murder or the taking of ones life, but the most violent members of gangs
