The purpose of this assessment is examine your written communication skills and your ability to synthesise and apply research, theories and frameworks to contemporary issues in workplace diversity. NB: You will need you use these skills to form an argument in relation to the question you choose to answer.
This assessment should bring together the understandings of concepts and issues that you have developed throughout the course.

For your final, 2000 word (±10%) essay, choose one of the questions below and address it with an example or illustrative case from one of the following diversity contexts that we have focused on in this course: gender / sex, race / ethnicity, sexuality / LGBTIQA+, religion, (dis)ability, age. If you would like to take an intersectional approach, and address more than one of these, within a particular example or case, you are most welcome.

- Is it more important to talk about diversity than discrimination within organisations?
- Is mandatory unconscious bias training a threat to better workplace diversity and inclusion outcomes?
- What is the single most effective way to address discrimination and/or promote diversity within organisations?

NB: There is no minimum number of references set. This is a research essay, and it will depend on the way in which you use sources, and show your understanding of relevant academic literature, that is most important. Aiming to meet a minimum number of sources, or simply citing sources for the sake of it, won't help the quality of your critical analysis, or the essay overall.
Don't forget one of the best ways to help you save time, and stay on track, is to use sources that are set texts or in-class readings for the course.
