Overview In this assessment task, you will be provided with a case study underpinning a specific organisation's HR issue. A detailed case study will be provided in Week 7. You will be required to work in a group of 5 team members and will analyse an authentic and specific business challenge and will provide original ideas and solutions to that challenge. The purpose of this report is to build your theoretical knowledge on addressing SHRM issues and proposing practical solutions. This case study presentation will assist you in: o enhancing your soft skills such as communication, team work, adaptability and flexibility, problem-solving, creativity, work ethic, interpersonal skills, time management, leadership, and attention to detail. o applying knowledge, innovative research, and inducing a high level of motivation. o applying your classroom knowledge to a real-life business scenario Assessment Details The task The case study will be posted here in Week 7. In this assessment task, you are required to identify the key issues in the case along with proposing potential solutions and implementation to each of the issues. The steps below will assist students to create a presentation for proposing the solution/s to the business challenge using key concepts and theories from this course. Remember to ensure that you have key arguments within your work and link to references where appropriate. Ideas and assertions should be substantiated through use of high-quality reference material and key academic perspectives/views (minimum of ten{10}). It is essential every time you make a major statement to also think about key implications within the workplace too. Step 1: Analyse and critique the case study, in relation to the issues detailed in the case Step 2: After analysing the case study, you will be able to strategically select and propose SHRM solutions and/or policies to be implemented. Step 3: Then, thoroughly research the available literature to discuss the solutions and/or policies and their potential implementation within the organisation. To do this: · Discuss why you are proposing the solutions and/or policies: their purpose, evaluation, implementation of each solutions and/or policies in the organisation, and their implications in relation to contemporary issues in SHRM. Step 4: Include appropriate (and practicable) recommendations for areas of improvement and their justification for each solutions and/or policies in your presentation. When proposing your recommendations, keep in mind the following considerations: · How could the solutions and/or policies you have proposed influence (or are influenced by) the organisation's strategy and culture, and its contemporary issues? · How will the proposed solutions and/or policies support the achievement of the organisation's long-term goals? · Advise how the proposed solutions and/or policies can link to the long-term goals of the organisation Marking Criteria This assessment will measure your ability to: · Critically analyse the case study · Demonstrate the use of theoretical knowledge and critically reflect on relevant theory, and meet referencing requirements · Develop evidence-base solutions and recommendations Learning Outcomes The targeted Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) for this assessment are: · CLO1: Analyse the context of strategic HR management theories and principles for implementation in organisations in relation to current global effects. · CLO2: Evaluate the relationship between human resource management strategies and their impact on business planning processes and organisational success. · CLO3: Apply strategic human resource principles and models to assess people management problems and suggest possible solutions. · CLO4: Research and identify emerging HR strategies that contribute to organisational objectives.
