Assignment Details
As a small group of consultants, you are required to provide your industry partner or client with the ideated solutions and/or recommendations addressing the main problem given in the project brief.
Your ideation report should be informed by the following:
- A brief description of the problem. You have done this analysis in Assignment 1: Problem analysis report. Therefore, you may combine the analyses done by all your team members, refine, improve and develop a succinct summary outlining the causes, effects and affected parties of the problem.
- A succinct and rigorous analysis of the external business environment. To this end, you may use the tools, models, and frameworks discussed and applied in the class, appropriately.
- A competitor analysis to determine the relative strength and weakness of your client’s business or organisation to outperform the competitors.
- A detailed outline of the main recommendations and the solution (maximum 3 recommendations) to address the client’s problem. These recommendations need to be specific, action-oriented and well-justified by literature. Please use the tools, frameworks and models from Weeks 4 to 8 appropriately to present the analysis needed to arrive at these recommendations. Ensure these recommendations clearly relate to the Project Brief and are clearly linked to the outcome of your analysis.
- An assessment of recommendation/s using the SAF framework as discussed in Week 8.

Team formations and related information
Use 1.7 Discussion 2: Getting into your teams to get organised into a team, so that you may complete Assignment 2A: Ideation report and Assignment 2B: Presentation of final recommendations. You should fill out a Team charter (DOC 1.2 MB) Download Team charter (DOC 1.2 MB) for 2.5 Activity: Building your team by the end of Week 2, to establish how your team plans to work together and agree on your team's goals, actions, milestones and behaviours.
As a team, you may find it most effective to divide the work associated with producing this task. There are many ways this could be achieved, including:
- Allocating roles relating to the various components of the task, including project manager, researcher, connector, and specific people drafting specific sections.
- Determining which components of the task would benefit from overall team consultation, and which components can be completed independently, and working accordingly.
- You will also need to consider the best way to collaborate on the production of the final submission. It may be the case that a shared document that all team members can edit (through a format such as shared files in OneDrive) is more effective than working on multiple Word documents that are distributed via email.
Whichever approach your team selects, please be aware that the overall result is shared equally between all team members. Therefore, it is your responsibility to ensure that team members are making a fair and equitable contribution to the work.
Note: Your eLA may, if appropriate, allocate a different mark to any individual within the team who does less than their fair share towards the completion of the report.
