Assistance on Reflective Portfolio

Purpose or Overview

The purpose of this reflective writing assessment piece is to give students an opportunity to make connections between what they are taught in theory and what they need to do in practice. “Without reflecting upon this experience, it may quickly be forgotten, or its learning potential lost. It is from the feelings and thoughts emerging from this reflection that generalisations or concepts can be generated. It is the generalisations that allow new situations to be tackled effectively” (Gibbs 1988, p.9). Therefore, in this assessment students are required to develop a portfolio website using Adobe Portfolio (Pf) to show case and reflect on their learning experience in the Unit. This will allow the students to think about what they are doing more deeply and to discover how what they are taught in class helps them with their real-world or academic tasks. In addition, students’ digital literacies will be improved by engaging in Adobe Portfolio application which is an important pillar of Swinburne Graduate Attributes. A training video on Adobe Portfolio application and guidance on reflective writing will be provided to students in due course for the successful completion of the assignment.
