BMA701 Leadership and Change Management - Assessment Task 2: Team Presentation

Assistance on Presentation Task

Assessment task 2: Team Presentation

The purpose of this team-based assessment is to develop your ability to use theory to inform practice.

To complete this assessment, you will work in teams of 3-5 students to produce an 8-10 minute audio-visual presentation.. Presentations must develop and defend an integrated leadership and change management approach to help a specific organisation perform better in relation to one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As a team, you will need to decide which organisation and which of SDG to focus on.

Note: no two teams can do the same combination of organisation and SDG, this means teams should register their organisation and SDG as early in the semester as possible via the Groups tab in MyLO.

Credible secondary sources must be used to justify why your team has selected the organisation and SDG (e.g., the organisation's annual report, official website, certified social media channels, credible news sources).

Peer-reviewed theory, principles, models, and evidence should be used to justify and defend the proposed leadership and change management approach you develop.

A minimum of 10 academic journal articles must be appropriately cited in your proposal.

While grounded in research, the communication of your proposal should be practitioner-oriented. The idea is to produce a presentation that would be suitable to show to the organisation you have chosen to focus on. Your purpose is to persuade the senior leaders of your case organisation that your approach to leadership and change management can help them perform better in relation to a specific SDG. To do so, you will need to provide evidence that the organisation has room to improve (in relation to the SDG), that there are benefits associated with improving (in relation to the SDG), and that your approach to leadership and change management will help them do so.

Your Proposal should:

  1. Use credible secondary sources to explain why you have selected the organisation and the SDG you have (HINT: this is where you should provide evidence that the organisation has room to improve in relation to the SDG and outline the value of doing so).
  2. Use academic literature to develop and defend a detailed leadership and change management approach that will enable the organisation to perform better in relation to the specified SDG.
  3. Use academic literature and persuasive communication to identify the likely effects of your proposed approach on various stakeholder groups, i.e. employees, the organisation, and the community/society.
