Purpose

This assessment task will help to develop valuable professional skills such as critical thinking, writing, research and analytical skills that are in demand by organisations. These topics cover contemporary HR issues that are fundamental to organisational operations and practice for strategic competitive advantage.

Task details

This assessment is an individual essay that will help you to develop an understanding of the critical theories and concepts of HRM. This includes the following four key areas: Culture, Diversity Management, International Performance Management and Training and Development. The literature relating to each of these four areas need to be researched, analysed and critically evaluated.

Read the detailed assignment instructions and assessment criteria (below) carefully, and follow the structure outlined.

Carefully read the Case study - Jet Stream Aircraft.

Using the information provided in the case study as an example, summarise the critical theories and concepts of Organisational HRM. You need to analyse and critically evaluate the literature on all four of the areas covered:

• International Performance Management; and

• Diversity Management;
