HME704: Challenges and Successes in Hospital Digitalisation: Insights from the PAH ieMR Implementation

This assessment required a case study report analyzing the digital transformation at Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) using a suitable theoretical framework. The task focused on identifying key implementation challenges and successes, and drawing lessons for future digital health projects. The NASSS (Non-Adoption, Abandonment, Scale-up, Spread, and Sustainability) framework was applied to assess the implementation of the integrated electronic medical record (ieMR) system across seven domains. Each domain including technology, value proposition, adopter system, organization, wider context, and adaptation over time was critically examined in relation to the PAH case. The report identified both addressed and overlooked factors, such as gaps in data governance and scaling. Insights were drawn to guide future digital health implementations, including stakeholder engagement, pilot testing, and robust evaluation. The report used current scholarly literature, adhered to APA7 referencing, and met all task criteria, demonstrating critical thinking, digital literacy, and professional relevance in health informatics.
