Assessment Task

This assessment comprises two (2) parts. Firstly, you will investigate a current business and its micro environment and communicate your research in one (1) main discussion forum post. Then, you will need to reply to and constructively comment on two (2) other learners’ posts about their chosen businesses. Linkages to module readings and independent research are required for the three (3) posts.

Context

Key to this assessment, and your professional practice more broadly, is your ability to identify micro environmental factors as they relate to business. This assessment will develop your collaborative knowledge from reading, researching, and constructively replying to other students’ discussion forum posts to promote shared knowledge and a community of practice. This assessment will also develop both the academic and industry skills of critical thinking and research using reliable sources of information.

Instructions

For this assessment task, you must complete both Part A and Part B.

Part B

Step 1: Constructively respond to a minimum of two (2) other students’ discussion posts (100 words per post)

Critique and make constructive responses on at least two (2) students’ posts about their businesses of choice. Your responses should be thorough and demonstrate critical thinking about the authors’ identification of the micro elements of their businesses of choice. Your responses should not comprise merely simple praise. For example, you can do this by responding with additional examples of the business that you have learned about with your own research.

Step 2: Support your responses with reasons and evidence

Include at least one (1) academic source from Modules 1–3 of the subject and one (1) non-academic source (independent research using the Torrens Library) with in-text citations and references following the current APA referencing style. A minimum of two references are required for Part B.

Read the assessment rubric, which is an evaluation guide with criteria for grading your assessment. This will indicate what features a successful discussion forum post and responses should exhibit.
