THS3FUT : Assessment 3: Details and instructions

Purpose

This assessment allows students to develop and practice skills relevant to analyzing trends, evaluating how a 'THE' (Tourism, Hospitality, and Events) organization aligns with those trends, and recommending creative solutions. These skills are valuable for future professional roles as understanding and predicting the environment helps organizations remain relevant.

Task Details

You will act as a senior consultant hired by an eco-friendly accommodation provider to analyze its efforts in keeping up with current and future trends. This will involve undertaking research from academic journals, books, industry sources, and the media. You must choose a real company offering eco-friendly accommodation to focus on.

Instructions

1. Carefully read the marking guide before starting.
2. Choose one (1) company that offers eco-friendly accommodation.
3. Undertake research from academic journals, books, industry sources, and the media.

In the form of a report, you must address the following:

• Describe the chosen organization and its current situation.
• Identify three relevant current or future tourism/hospitality trends. For each trend, you must:
• Briefly describe the trend.
• Analyze how the trend currently impacts the organization and/or how it is likely to affect the organization in the future.
• Evaluate if and how the organization is aligning itself with the trend.
• Recommend what the organization could be doing to better align itself with the trend.

Based on Step 4, conclude by evaluating:

• How well the organization is likely to perform in 10 years if it continues operating as it currently is.
• How well the organization is likely to perform in 10 years if it follows your recommendations.

Format and Structure:

Format: 12-point Arial or Times New Roman font and 1.5 spacing.

Report Format:

• Cover page
• Executive summary
• Table of contents
• Introduction
• Main body of the report
• Conclusion
• References
• Appendices (if applicable)

The following are NOT included in the word count: cover page, executive summary, table of contents, references, and any appendices.

Cite and correctly reference your sources using APA7 referencing. Refer to at least ten (10) relevant and credible academic publications, as well as other non-academic sources as required. Your references do not contribute towards your total word count.
