Sustainable Solutions for Food Delivery Service: A Path to Food Delivery Success

Introduction

This report is prepared for “Hygienic and Fastest delivery house”, which is a food packaging and suppling company that provides fresh food in boxes, at the client’s door-steps. It is an online food delivery (FD) that takes online orders and deliver food to the customers (Li et al. 2020). As all the functions of the company’s supply chain are interlinked, flaw in any one area can affect the productivity and efficiency of other functions, resulting in an unsatisfied client and bad reviews.

The previous report has discussed many potential issues like: food quality, packaging, ingredients, quality assurance, delayed delivery, damaged boxes, inactive tracking app etc. Also, the report considered sustainability concerns like: use of eco-friendly packing, promote waste management and recycled products, green transportation, etc. To cater all these challenges, two recommendations were provided to address customers complains and maintain a competitive market position. This report will focus on recommendation 2, i.e., ‘Modification or Induction of Technological Infrastructure’.

After the Covid 19, the increase of food ordering and home delivery has increased. Where, innovation is largely implemented in food delivery industry, to provide improved services, processes, and transform the overall business operations (Huang, & Siao, 2023). Also, research has proved that food chains and brands face sustainability challenges, due to lack of incorporation of technological advancements (Abideen et al. 2021). Therefore, technological advancements can help “Hygienic and Fastest delivery house”, to overcome their supply chain problems and cater customer complains. This report will first analyze the past literature of technological advancement in food supply industry and then come up with an effective intervention (solution) plan for the company.
