Purpose

The purpose of Assessment 1 is to apply knowledge learned in Weeks 1 to 4 to undertake a strategic analysis of a modern rm.

Task details

Topic: Provide a Five Forces Analysis of TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited). In your analysis ensure you refer to the peer reviewed academic literature regarding Michael Porter's Five Forces Model. In addition, with reference to the peer reviewed academic literature, you must consider TSMC's geopolitical position and how this may affect the future of the organisation.

For this task, you will undertake a strategic analysis that involves three sections:

1. Background of the study, including a brief history of TSMC.
2. An application of the Five Forces Model to TSMC that analyses and explains its current strategic
3. A discussion of the geopolitical forces affecting

Students must demonstrate an engagement with the body of knowledge, demonstrated through the application of a minimum of six (6) contemporary evidenced based academic references. This research must be within a reasonable date range (i.e., 2017- 2024). There may be at least two (2) references to the subject's core text (Hanson et al. 2022) in addition to the minimum six (6) peer-reviewed journals.

No article may be referenced more than twice.

All three sections of the assessment task must have references to the strategic management academic literature from peer- reviewed journals. All cited research must be discussed and explained to support the reasoning.

Formatting

The submission must have an introduction, main body, conclusion and bibliography. Headings and sub-headings may be used. Submissions must be formatted as follows:

1.5 line spacing

fully justi ed margins

one full return between paragraphs.

The submission must conform with the formatting guidelines. Marks cannot be awarded where the author's message is lost through non-compliant formatting or language.

The paper must follow the APA7 referencing style.
