Overview Record a PowerPoint presentation on a current issue. Choose from the following: 1. COVID-19 crisis 2. Gig Work 3. Sustainability 4. Artificial intelligence 5. Another issue that is important to you Critically analyse the HR response to the issue. Discuss how HR has adapted to the issue and how HR is supporting employees and organisations in dealing with the issue. Utilise the different topics covered in the course so far (e.g. Recruitment and selection; Training and development; Ethical HRM etc.) Assessment Details Students should use PowerPoint or a similar presentation software (e.g Prezi) for their presentation. Presentations are to be voice and/or video recorded. Presentations can also be video/sound recorded via Teams. You will not loose marks if you do not video record your presentation; however, voice recording is required. Introduce the presentation and provide a summary/conclusion at the end. Submit a PDF copy of the presentation slides along with the video Relevant academic references should be provided. Students will demonstrate additional research beyond the course material by using recent peer reviewed academic journal articles published from 2012 onwards (minimum of ten{10}). Use of the grey literature (media articles etc) can also be used in addition to academic journal articles Example list of quality journals · Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources · International Journal of HRM · Human Resource Management · Personnel Review · Journal of Industrial Relations · Australian Journal of Labour Law Marking Criteria This assessment will measure your ability to: · Explain the SHRM issue and its link to organisational strategy, culture and the role of HR · Identify and analyse key SHRM issues · Apply relevant SHRM theory and models · Meet presentation and referencing requirements Learning Outcomes The targeted Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) for this assessment are: · CLO1: Analyse the context of strategic HR management theories and principles for implementation in organisations in relation to current global effects. · CLO2: Evaluate the relationship between human resource management strategies and their impact on business planning processes and organisational success. · CLO3: Apply strategic human resource principles and models to assess people management problems and suggest possible solutions. · CLO4: Research and identify emerging HR strategies that contribute to organisational objectives.
