Understanding Moral Dilemmas: Psychopathy vs. Empathy in

Kimyetta McNeil Walker CJ-303 2-1 Journal Assignment Are You a Psychopath? 1.What would you do in Scenario One? Why? In scenario one I would have to agree to flip the switch in order to save more people and have just one loss instead of five. It would probably seem like the most reasonable and logical choice to make but in the end, you would still have one lost life unless it could somehow be avoided to save everyone. Why would I flip the switch, simply because I'd rather save as many people as possible. 2.What would you do in Scenario Two? Why? In scenario two as harsh as it sounds, most people would probably push the one person if it meant saving countless lives. I'm not quite sure if any choice would be right. It wouldn't be right to push someone off a ledge or bridge to simply save others. Yet it wouldn't be right to let others die either. This particular scenario is a little hard to choose what someone like myself would do. 3.Compare the reaction of an average person to that of a psychopath? I believe the difference may lie in how one can or cannot feel. The average person would probably feel some kind of remorse or empathy for even having to choose between saving lives and risking any kind of loss of life. While a psychopath would have no remorse or emotion behind having to push someone to their death to save others whether it's 1 person that's going to die or 5 people. A psychopath usually lacks emotion to any reckless behavior would not bother them at the least.
