This assessment builds on your growing knowledge base and encourages you to use the knowledge to apply to a practice situation.
Instructions and word guides 1.Refer to the case study provided.
- Read your chosen case study and notice what you identify as the core experiences of the people who are central to the case study. Describe this in writing. Comment on, for example, what are their experiences? What do you think are the main areas of concern? Identify what happened to them? What is the impact of those experiences? What information is missing, or you would like to know? (500 words)
- Next, have a go at identifying what theories/perspectives that help you make sense of those experiences and the impact of those experiences? (1000 words)
- Reflect on your experience of applying the theory to the case study. Consider, for example: What did you notice? Was the process easy /straightforward or difficult? (500 words)
- Focusing on trauma in particular, how useful did you find using theory to make sense of the person/people's experiences? What do you see as the importance of applying theory to practice? How does it aid your professional judgement? (500 words)

You do not need to include an introduction or conclusion; just respond to each question, making sure that you directly address the points raised.

You must engage with the topic readings to develop and articulate your responses and you are encouraged to demonstrate wider reading to support your case study analysis.
Please ensure that you reference (in-text and a complete list) all source materials using the APA (7th) referencing style.
The essay should be approximately 2500 words and is worth 50% of your total grade.
