Students are to create a HR standards framework based on a HR Professional body such as the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), or the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand (HRNZ) for Ice Cream Dreams – an emerging ice cream company based in Adelaide. Students must justify their choice of standards within their frameworks and use a minimum of 10 academic references to support their reasoning.

The Scenario:

Ice Cream Dreams, an emerging ice cream company based in Adelaide is keen to expand from its current store in Adelaide’s CBD interstate due to record sales and demand for its flavours of the month. Ice Cream Dreams’ CEO, Mr. Sprinkles, has hired you as his first HR Manager to lead the HR team, which has had no direction so far, and has been reactionary to important issues relating to the business. Upon your hiring, you have determined the first course of action for the HR team is setting standards that the team needs to meet in order to be more professional, proactive, and be able to support the expanding business. You decide to do this by creating a HR standards framework.
