BFA503 – Final exam overview
Exam conditions
- Take-home exam – Open book exam
- Duration: 5 hours plus 15 minutes reading time
- Time: from 9.00am - 2.15pm
- Date: 14 June 2022 (Tuesday)
- No formula sheet to be provided. Students need to prepare formula sheet by themselves.
How to get access to the exam paper
- No earlier than 9.00am on 14 June 2022, the exam paper and its associated journal article will be available on Mylo under: BFA503/ Content/ Assessment/ Final Exam paper.
- The folder “Final exam paper” will be available for 25 minutes (from
9.00 am – 9.25 am) for students’ access.
- After 9.25am, the folder will be hidden from the Mylo site.
- There are two files in the “Final exam paper”:
- Ordinary Final Exam paper
- A Journal article as a reference to answer some exam questions.
How to submit your answer to the exam
- Once you get access to the exam paper, it is up to you to decide if a hand-written answer sheet or a typed answer sheet is to be submitted.
- If you choose a hand-written answer sheet, you need to scan your answer in a Pdf file and submit it via Mylo submission link.
- Submission link can be found via: BFA503/ Assessment/ Assignment/ Final exam submission.
- You can submit as many files as you would like to in the submission box.
- The exam submission link will be hidden by 2.20pm. After 2.20pm, no submission will be accepted for any reason.
Exam structure
- The exam will be marked out of 100
- There are two sections: SECTION A comprises THREE (3) short-answered questions and SECTION B consist of FOUR (4) questions each with subparts.
- In Section A, you need to read a journal article about dividend policy and answers THREE questions. Make sure you download the article with the exam paper. There will be no chance to go back the Mylo and download it later.
- No COPY and PASTE from the article
- Need to write the answers in your own words
- Identical answers by any students will result in 0 mark and a case of academic misconduct will be raised.

- Four (4) practical questions with sub-questions in the following topics:

- Make sure you read the questions carefully and directly answer the question
- For calculation questions, ensure you show all Calculations steps with the final results.
- Error carried down rule applied (Wrong number carried down from previous question will not be double penalty).
