Instructions: 1.Make needed revisions to your Final Project Milestone Two: Literature Analysis, based on instructor feedback. 2.Save this worksheet to your computer. 3.Develop a research question, using the following process: Start with your issue and what you learned from the literature analysis. Then, ask yourself what more would you (and others) like to know about this issue? Translate what you want to find out about the issue into a question. Make sure your question is answerable and is neither too broad nor too narrow in scope. Research Question: What are the psychological effects on intimate partner abusers if they grow up in an abusive home life? 4.List the assumptions related to your research question: Assumptions (For example, the population to be studied is readily accessible) 1.)It is assumed that all intimate partner abusers grew up in an abusive home 2.)It is assumed that children who grew up in broken homes will always head towards a life of crime or abuse 3.)Not everyone who grew up in a broken home will have psychological effects 5.List the limitations of your research questions: Limitations (For example, degree to which the population sample accurately represents the entire population, or risks for bias) 1.)One limitation is that you cannot tell who is an intimate partner abuser, they are not likely to participate in a research study such as this one 2.)Not everyone is open about sharing their personal health history, especially mental health history. 3.)Mental health history is a very personal subject, there are a lot of restrictions on what is okay and what is not okay to share. It also depends on the person's comfortability with sharing such personal information. 6.Identify a criminological theory that best explains the reasoning behind your research questions. The criminological theories you may consider are those outlined in the overview for Module Two, as well as the assigned readings for Module Two. Criminological theory: The criminological theory that is best applied here is the psychological theory. This theory states that there is an influential factor that have a mental effect on the person committing the act. Why and how it is closely related to your research question: My question essentially correlates to mental health, and mental health is a psychological study of the mind and how it works.
