Evidence: I would rate myself a “2” on written communication because I feel that I still do not have a strong ability to write persuasively. I am working on my written communication skills, however, to polish and refine my ability. First and foremost, I feel that my resume rather demonstrates how average I am at written communication. Although my resume is not too impressive, it is not too bad either. Therefore, I believe I am somewhere in between. It happens very often that my writing is not too comprehensive, clear and concise. However, my message is somewhat delivered in bits and pieces. I believe I need to work on my written communication skills so that they are further developed and strengthened. 

Articulate communicator with an appreciation for the different communication

styles required when working with other team members or with customers.

Evidence: I would rate myself a “3” on oral communication. My oral communication skills are very strong. I am a fluent communicator who appreciates a multitude of communication styles. My communication skills have helped me interact with customers and my team members. I have become strong at communication because I am good at listening too. In order to become a good communicator, one needs to be a good listener as well. My oral communication skills are prodigal with concision and clarity. Therefore, it will be safe to say that I have strong oral communication skills. 

Evidence: Since I believe I am very good at formal communication, I would rate myself a “3” on the scale. Whenever I am present in formal settings, I ensure that I take the necessary actions to raise the formality of my tone. I avoid communicating in a way that makes me sound informal. Whenever I am present at a business meeting, or any other formal event at my institute, I ensure that I am dressed according to the occasion. I also avoid carrying a casual conduct, instead of a formal one in formal settings. 

Evidence: Without any doubt, I have a very strong ability to support team goals. Therefore, I’d rate myself a “3” on the scale. Whenever I am working with a team of individuals, I let the goals and objectives of the team rivet my attention, and that of the other members. I work very hard towards achieving the goals of the team, and also help others in every possible way to do so. In fact, I have significant experience of working in teams, and have also got the chance to work on some tasks with my team members. I have always supported the goals of my team due to which my team projects have been quite successful. 

Evidence: I think I am not very good enough at leading or motivating others. I am not very bad at it, either. Hence, I’d rate myself “2.” I do have the ability to lead and motivate others. However, I feel there is still some room for improvement. I have significant experience of working in teams. Each time I have been assigned projects in a team, I believe some other team members were best suited to take the lead. I probably lacked somewhere and could not be as good as them in motivating or leading others. Hence, I feel I need to work on my leadership skills to move up to a “3” on the scale. 

Evidence: Taking instructions is amongst my strengths and I’d rate myself a “3.” I do not make taking instructions a problem of my ego. I am very hard working, and producing quality work has always been my top priority. In order to produce quality work, taking instructions and following them is indispensable. Also, I am a very productive team member who has had the chance to seek employment in part-time jobs, and the job required taking instructions. I have been very good at the jobs I have had so far, because I tended to follow the instructions. 

Evidence: Generating solutions is another strength that I possess, hence, I’d rate myself a “3.” Whenever a problem occurs during my work or academics, I visualize the problem through mind maps. It helps me generate effective solutions to the problems hindering my progress. I have been involved in the kind of work that brought up challenging tasks for me each time I progressed. It takes a lot of critical thinking and focus to generate solutions. Luckily, I have the right mix of critical thinking skills and focus. Therefore, I am very good at generating solutions to the problems in my way.  

Evidence: If it comes to evaluating alternative solutions to the problem, I am not very good at planning back-ups. Hence, I’d rate myself a “2.” Evaluating alternatives can get very difficult for the problems with only one solution. In other cases, despite having simpler alternatives, I sub-consciously opt for the difficult route to get the problem solved. This is a challenge that I am currently trying to overcome. Although I can generate solutions to problems, coming up with alternatives and/or back-ups can get tough at times. However, I have been in situations where I effectively evaluate alternatives to get the problems solved.
