About Me
As you have reached my portfolio so I assume you already have an idea about my credentials, but I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about me, Abdul Aziz as a person. I am a student with great goals and inspiration; I am a self-motivated individual who aims high in life. Many a times people think that their choices in life are driven by their circumstances, I don’t believe in this. I believe no matter where I am, no matter which circumstances I find myself in, it is always up to me, how I perceive those situations how I plan to deal with them. As a student, I pursued for academic qualification in the field of commerce, because I have interest in the business world and commerce. From my school days in Saudi Arabia, I always looked for opportunities where I could explore my options and look for a better future. Even though I do not have any professional work experience in the corporate sector yet my employment in the Al-Madinah farm has helped me create a sense of professionalism for myself. My work experience helped me understand that it is not just the academic qualifications that help an individual to grow but in fact it is the practical experience that enables us to look at things from new perspectives and be more efficient at creativity, be able to do hard work, be more self-motivated, be able to take risks that are not randomly carried out but are calculated.
Academically, I am still a student, pursuing a degree in commerce. My interest in commerce is deep rooted in me and has always been something that I have inspired to excel on. As child I have always been very curious, it is this curiosity that has always helped me in reaching places. Most of the times when I opt for a new learning experience it is driven by curiosity. I have generally, liked to explore new ideas and ways of doing business.
Leadership Skills
I have a firm belief in the fact that every individual is born with general yet distinctive qualities. I have always experienced myself to be a person with leadership qualities, there have been many instances throughout my life so far that have increased my confidence in myself and my qualities. I started realizing my potential from my school time, I have always been a sports enthusiast and as soon as I grew up I climbed the ladder of hierarchy in my school’s football and volleyball team. It was not just my performance in the sport, but the efficiency with which I used to bring the whole team on same page, that helped me gain the title of captaincy. At one occasion there were two members of my team who happened to be the key players of the team, but they got into a fight which was affecting the team’s performance, so what I did was, I took them out for coffee after school and resolved all the issues that they had by mediating, and once that was done, they were back to being friends again. I have been a very socially active person throughout my life. I have played an active role in my social gatherings, many a times I have lead my entire friend group. If there is any plan to be made, I am always the one looked up to for planning the entire trip and leading everyone throughout. At many occasions I was faced with critical decision-making situations, where my sole decisions could decide the fate of my entire friends group traveling with me, and I carried out those tasks very attentively and cautiously and above all successfully. Once we friends decided to go on vacations on the notice of two days and I single handedly managed to carry out all the hassle, from booking our tickets, hotels, to our stay everything I did in two days and the trip was a success. Back in my homeland, and here in Australia also, I have been an active volunteer. Even at the volunteering opportunities, I have mostly led the groups and the other people in the group have look up to me and follow my instructions to carry out the volunteering activities. Once we were conducting a volunteer program for kids back at home, where we organized a sports activity for the underprivileged students. During the football session one kid got severely injured, and all of my team members started panicking, as I was already in charge, I handled the situation very bravely, I helped my partners to calm down and took the kid for first aid. I responded to all the queries of the authorities. I saved ourselves from getting into any trouble, by clearly describing to the authorities that it was a pure accident and none of the volunteer was to be blamed.
Another quality that makes me feel like I have leadership qualities is that I don’t play favorites. Whenever I am in charge, I always act fairly on merit basis, I never give my friends an edge over others only because of my friendship with them. However, if they act as per standards I never discourage or discriminate them because of the same reason. Another quality of mine is that I am very fair and honest in my actions. Once as a captain I had to choose between a friend who didn’t play well and a person that I didn’t really like but he played great football. I took the highroad and gave the chance to person who was good at the game.
Another quality that increases my confidence in my leadership skill is that I am considered trust worthy by my peers, be it at work or in personal life, my family and friends always seem to consult me and take my word. It is this action of my family and friends that lead me to believe that I am considered trustworthy in my circle and all of my peers consider consulting me for their professional and personal matters. This proves that I create an emotional bond with the people I am close to and that I inspire them (Mathew & Gupta, 2015). Another quality is that I have compassion and as and when needed I can show emotions. Another quality of a leader is self-evaluation, one cannot successfully lead others unless he knows himself inside out (Robertson, 2016). A leader must be aware of his strengths, his weaknesses, the threats that might come in the way or the opportunities that are available out there. I have done an extensive SWOT analysis of myself and this also give me a confidence over my leadership skills.
Educational Background
My educational background starts from my schooling that was done from King Fahad High School, Saudi Arabia. I graduated from my school in the year 205. While I was in my school I knew that I wanted to go abroad for higher studies hence I started applying and got successful in getting an admission in Australia. in the year 2016, I got into Navitas English in Brisbane city Australia. In the year 2017 I got into a diploma course in Commerce from the prestigious institute of Griffith College. I will be graduating in 2018 from Victoria University in Melbourne Australia, in the Bachelor of Commerce program.

Abdul Aziz As an Applicant
As an applicant I consider myself suitable for any relevant opening in my field, that is, commerce. Along with my educational skills I have a lot of soft skills and experiences that should play an important role in my application consideration. I have been heavily engaged in affairs of local communities. I hold the view that younger students within my community should be helped to overcome common challenges. As a volunteer, I helped the local communities in making sound decisions regarding school funding. Besides, I have been maintaining and running a youth club, which became a very rewarding experience. Through my contribution, I learned about organization of work and time management. I have also been a class representative in my school, acting as a link between students.
SWOT ANALYSIS
SWOT is a short for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats; it is a great management concept that is followed by almost every manager in almost every organization. The concept helps in analyzing any situation from a four-dimensional perspective, which results in taking a well-defined action under any situation. Interestingly, this concept is not limited to organizational or formal use only but it can be used by individuals for their professional and personal development. After a detailed analysis of my abilities, my current circumstances and my future plans I present to you my SWOT analysis.
Strengths
My strengths are a combination of my intellectual intelligence and my emotional intelligence. My strongest strength is my academic qualification. I am a commerce student which is a great strength of mine when I plan a future in the world of business and innovation. Another of my strengths is the leadership quality that I have been demonstrating my whole life. As already explained in the other part of my profile with complete details, I have been showing the leadership skills through out, time and again in my life I have roved to be a leader and not a mere follower of rules. I have exceptionally good communication skills, both written and spoken. This strength will give me an advantage in my business as I will have to talk to people every. I am also good at team management and my time management skills are also worth noting, I believe these two strengths form the basis for a successful life for any individual. Another quality of mine is that I am very presentable, and I have very fine presentation skills, for any individual planning a life in the world of business, these skills matter the most. I am a tech-savvy individual, which is also a strength for me in todays technologically advanced times, no person can get professionally successful if he is not good at using technology.
