The purpose of this assignment is to conduct an environmental scan to identify, analyze, and communicate trend or issue of relevance to Human Resource Development. Your task is to: 1. Select TWO recent*, relevant, related articles from the HRD literature. One of the articles should be from an academic journal. 2. Read and analyse the articles. 3. Write a report/essay that addresses the following: a) Explain the issue or trend addressed in the articles by briefly summarizing the key information presented in each article. b) Explain why you believe the issue/trend is significant to the practice of HRD, and describe what impact you think it will have on the practice of HRD in organisations. c) Make two recommendations for action you believe a HRD manager/professional should follow to deal with the issue or trend. Assessment 2: Group Human Resource Development Training Plan (1300 words per student)
The purpose of this assignment is for your group to plan, design and evaluate a training program.
You are a management consultant, and you have been engaged by A & J university. The private university currently has over 50 campuses in metropolitan and regional areas of Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. The Vice-Chancellor, Ali Jas, has asked you to develop a training plan which can be administered across all the campuses, and also in its Melbourne main campus.
Your task is to:
- Develop a detailedproposal for the training plan, based on one of the topics below. The training plan should include:
- a) A titleand overall descriptionof the plan

- What are my short-term career objectives?
- What are my long-term career objectives?
2) Where am I now?
Two key issues you should address here:
- An assessment of my current personal values.
- An assessment of my current knowledge, skills, abilities and other qualifications compared to those required for my desired job.
