This unit has acquainted me with a lot of new concepts and frameworks I never thought existed. First and foremost, the assignments that I completed in this unit taught me a lot about the Ghemawat AAA global strategy framework. Had I not been enrolled in this unit or undertaken research for the completion of my assignments, I would never have known about the significance of this framework. The assignment based on a thorough research of the internal structure and the external environment of Murray Goulburn enabled me to put the global strategy framework into practice. Learning more about the development of global strategies is what I have taken a note of, from this unit and the assignments. The significance of adaptation, aggregation and arbitration, forming the three A’s of the Ghemawat AAA strategy framework has also helped me understand the multitude of ways through which the CAGE differences can be dealt with.

 

 

The unit and the assignments made me conversant with the CAGE distance framework as well. It is particularly through this framework that I learnt how global strategies could be crafted by companies. Besides, the unit also taught me the importance of taking differences between countries into account while developing global strategies. These differences rely on culture, administration, geography and economy (Ghemawat, 2001). With the application of the CAGE distance framework in the activities and assignments, I also recognized the trade patterns. As I continued to engage more into work and devote additional time to my researches, I began comprehending the capital information. Understanding people flows also became rather simple. The unit allowed me to understand the significance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). I realized how crucial it is for the companies to operate in an ethical manner. As I progressed, my comprehension of the CSR broadened and I realized that companies ought to operate sustainably, taking all the social and environmental impacts of their operations into account.

Studying Murray Goulburn’s internal and external environment taught me how I could apply relevant frameworks for the presentation of reliable and accurate information. Global value could be created through the generic approaches as identified by the Ghemawat AAA framework (Ghemawat, 2007). As I learnt more about this unit, I realized that there are a lot of businesses in the world that wish to operate on a global platform and expand their scale of operations. However, many business leaders often fail to execute their plans solely because of a dearth of reliable employees with significant knowledge of international operations. In other words, leaders of many other companies do not outsource their operations because of low global intelligence amongst the members of the company. This is the point where the CAGE distance framework taught me how these gaps could be bridged at two levels. The CAGE distance framework taught me how the problem of low global intelligence could be sorted at the personal level, as well as the business level. In addition to that, I also learnt some of the strategies, pragmatic enough to handle the repercussions of globalization.
