You can use the optimal azimuth angle for the location but the slope is restricted to the range . Assuming a grid-connected system on a grid electricity tariff of 15 p/kWh and an annual tariff inflation rate of 2.6%:

  1. Is your proposed investment financially viable?
  2. How much of the home’s electricity demand is met by the system?
  3. What are the maximum and actual capacity factors of the system?
  4. How much CO 2 is saved annually? Use the average carbon intensity in December 2020 for your chosen location and assume that the carbon intensity of electricity generated from PV systems is 85 gCO 2 /kWh. The carbon intensity of grid electricity consumed from any region of the UK can be obtained from the Carbon Intensity API.
