Assessment Task:

Based on the case of the National Gallery of Australian's purchase of the Dancing Shiva (Links to an external site.), develop a comprehensive analysis and discussion of the concept of due diligence and show the various ways in which due diligence was not observed in this case and the explain how, as the contract manager in charge of the purchase, you would have ensured that the outcomes observed were avoided.

In completing this assignment you are required to:

1. Read widely on, and develop a discussion of the concept of due diligence in supplier contract management: what it is and why it is important 
2. Follow the link provided and research widely on, and develop a comprehensive outline of the case
3. Identify and discuss the different ways in which the NGA failed in conducting due diligence of the supplier
4. Explain how you, as a contract manager in charge of the purchase would have avoided the outcome observed
5. Your paper must make reference to at teas 10 academic publications in your definition and discussion of the concept of due diligence and best practice supplier selection

The paper should be no more than 2000 words, excluding bibliography.
