Abstract
The abstract summarizes the contents of the paper (around 200 words). A good abstract contains as much information about the whole paper as possible. The abstract should contain answers to the following questions: (1) what is the topic about? (2) What are the main arguments of the literature? (3) What are the main findings about the topic in relation to current practice? (3) How does the theory of the literature review compare to current practice? (4) What then are your main findings about the topic?
Introduction
The introduction should be a brief description of what this document is about and how it is structured. Briefly introduce the topic. In mentioning the literature analysis, give a brief summary about the literature you have looked at and how it relates to current practice. It is sufficient to have a short paragraph or two for this section.
Literature analysis
Introduce your literature analysis by describing the issue, problem, or theory base that your literature sheds light on. Then you may proceed with discussing the literature and your analysis. Provide as many sub-headings as is necessary to guide the reader through the different parts of your literature analysis.
This is a sample sub-heading
Do not list each article or discuss the article one after the other. That would be more of a summary or articles rather than a literature analysis. Instead, look at the themes that are common to the articles, and create a synthesized summary based on those themes. You may also compare and contrast the articles if they have a different view towards the issue/problem/opportunity.
Remember that literature often will not pose a solution a problem, but rather provide a conceptual framework through which you may identify a set of possible solutions. You will need to assess each article you read in terms of how much insight it sheds on the particular problem/issue/opportunity that you are studying.
If at any point in your literature analysis you need to include any tables, figures, illustrations etc, these should be placed as close as possible to the first reference made to it. They should be numbered and identified by a brief description.
Citing references
Citations should be in Harvard style. This involves references to Smith (1979) or to a publication (Smith 1979). Multiple authors (three or more) are referred to as Anderson et al. (1982). Multiple publications by the same author within the same year are differentiated as Jones (1983a, 1983b). Where the author is unknown, or is an organization, an appropriate surname or organization name or acronym is used, e.g. (OECD 1985, ACS 1980). Make sure that if you use text verbatim, you should place these in quotes (“ ”), and reference appropriately, with the page number included. For example, “This is a direct quotation from a particular source,” (Smith 1979, p. 22).
Literature analysis summary
You will need to provide, in the last part of your literature analysis, a summary of the key points you have discussed, or conclusions that you have arrived at based on your discussion. State also in this summary how you see this literature review can possibly help in formulating a solution to the situation in the case.
Current Practice Section
This is where you can introduce the major findings you have discovered from your analysis of websites such as CIO.com. It is expected that in this section you will discuss some of the latest activities occurring in relation to your topic. You should ensure that the topics covered here match comfortably with your literature so that you can compare them effectively. Remember that it is important to reference the source of the material you put in this section (most of the references here will probably be online references – but follow a style guide to help you to reference them appropriately).
Comparison of Literature and Current Practice
You should use this section to compare your literature review and current practice and highlight sections of the literature that are currently relevant. What lessons can be learned from the literature that can be applied today?

References – Literature
Sufficient descriptions should be given to enable the reader to locate all publications referred to in the text. They should be arranged in alphabetical order by surname of first-named author, then date. Unpublished works or private communications are to be mentioned within the text, but omitted from the reference list. References to electronic documents should include an appropriate Universal Resource Locator (URL) and date of access.
