This assessment will collect evidence of you conducting an analysis of market data in order to determine organizational and competitor business performance and to prepare market and business forecast. With the aim to assist in developing an organization’s marketing plan to determine the current or potential future success of marketing strategies.
Assessment 3: Developing a marketing presentation
Introduction:
Following on from Assessment 2, you have interpreted trends and market developments for a new organic coffee product from the Mean Beans Coffee Company which is being introduced to the Ethical Trading Group (ETG).
Read the case study below and complete the activities in Parts (1) and (2).
Case Study: Ethical Trading Group (ETG)
The senior management team at ETG are really excited about marketing the organic coffee from Mean Bean Coffee Company. They have asked you to prepare a report of your analysis of the market data and discuss your findings.
They have requested a PowerPoint presentation to support your verbal report. You will need to demonstrate how marketing the coffee will meet ETG organisational requirements and include any scheduling or content needed for the marketing and promotional activities
General Instructions:
For this assessment you will need to complete the following:
- Part 1 – Develop a PowerPoint presentation with ten (10) slides that demonstrates the results of the analysis you conducted.
- Part 2 – Assess the presentation for any potential problems and take the corrective actions needed.
All the information for your presentation will need to be extracted from Assessment 2 and will be your final report on the trends and developments in organic coffee which can be utilised to market the new product at ETG.
Part 1: Prepare, plot and develop a visual presentation
Using all the data and analysis which was completed in Assessment 2, create a DRAFT COPY Power Point presentation of your analysis and qualitative results.
You are required to use creative licence to make the presentation interesting (the use of bullet points is recommended to assist with streamlining the slides).
Complete and submit the checklist provided in Appendix1 to confirm that you have addressed all the information which you will need to present in Assessment 4.
Using the checklist, develop the presentation by addressing the following:
Select and use at least two (2) software application methods which will be used to interpret the data. E.g. graphs, charts, spreadsheets
- Create a PowerPoint presentation which demonstrates how you have interpreted the analysed data which address your findings in the summary you prepared in Assessment 2.
Ensure that the presentation consists of approximately ten (10) slides which includes:
- an overview of ETG business goals
- visual presentations of:
- measures of central tendency or dispersion and one (1) other statistical analysis tool used to analyse the data
- the market trends and developments for organic coffee in Australia
- a basic plan for the marketing activities to be implemented by:
- explaining the content needed to create the marketing campaign
- outlining the format to be used
- scheduling requirements for promoting the new coffee product which has the timelines for at least four (4) key areas of the marketing process.
- Develop a conclusion which summarizes the findings and outlines how the market data for organic coffee will meet the requirements of ETG.

Part 2: Assess the visual presentation for potential problems and rectify
To ensure that your presentation has addressed all the criteria listed in Part 1, you will need to review all the slides to assess if there are any potential problems with the presentation.
For this activity, a work colleague, friend or family member will need play the role of a team member working as part of the marketing team at ETG.
Complete the following tasks:
- Draft an email to the marketing team member at ETG, requesting that they review the presentation and identify one (1) correction which is required.
Submit a screen shot or copy of the email which clearly shows your request and the presentation attached.
- Based on the problem identified by the marketing team colleague at ETG, make the necessary corrections and mark the presentation as the FINAL COPY.
- Submit a copy of the marketing team member’s reply to your email.
- Submit the FINAL COPY of the presentation.
