ADULT AGGRESSION
It is too simple to blame adult aggression on exposure to media violence in childhood. Some research argues that other factors, such as parental influence, an individual’s personality and access to good education have more impact on whether children develop aggressive behaviors as adults. To what extent do you agree?
Introduction
Violence in media poses as much threat to public health as much as it leads to an increase in real-world violence and aggression. Television content that has violence in it, also play its part indirectly to increase violence, same is the case with video games as they are clearly capable of producing an increase in aggression and violence in the short term, for better or worse various types of media are having its impact on the daily lives of teenagers. The relationship between a teenager and his parents, peers and other members of the society also plays a crucial role in the development of aggression.

Early exposure of media violence to children causes aggression later in their life, regardless of their social class, IQ, traits and gender.
Over the years researchers have found that children are more physically and verbally aggressive immediately after they have watched any violence over any kind of media, regardless of their gender (Huesmann. R, 2006).
Children’s if exposed to violence either on television or in the form of video games increases the risk of violent behavior on their end same as someone is growing up in an environment surrounded by real violence risk (Taylor. L, 2006).
Regardless of the content shown over the media, if children are guided properly in their early age, the chances of developing aggressive behavior can be minimized.

Children who affiliate themselves with various characters and perceive media violence as realistic have higher chances of getting influenced.
According to Thomas (2012), various gaming companies are coming up with more interactive video games that put players in a first person perspective and encourage them to get involve in violent acts.
Violence in video games also causes an overall increase in violence, nowadays children are spending most of their time playing video games most of which consist of violence, influencing children to get involve in similar acts as depicted in videogames (Huesmann. R, 2006)
However at the same time many people argue that video games act as a source of an entertainment for most of the youngsters, as it not only make them more reactive but also some of the strategic games play a vital role in their strategic thinking skills (Biocca, 2011).

There are various other risk factors involved that may increase the likelihood of a teenager to engage in aggressive behavior.
Individual personality includes a different temperament as an infant hyperactivity and attention problems, often misinterpret other children’s behavior as hostile Loeber. R, (1997).
Even children who come from home environment where enough emotional support is not provided; activities are at greater risk of engaging themselves in aggressive behaviors.
In most of the cases, due to the aggressive behaviors of children they are rejected by their peers, this early rejection by their peers, which is very important, may later turn in to violent behavior (Wilson. B, 2008).\
Conclusion
The content been displayed over the media and most importantly in video games is a growing concern for not only parents but also for various organizations. If parents provide proper guidance and support to their children than the chances of developing aggressive or violent behavior wouldn’t be that high. Although majority of the children are exposed to violence over media but only the minority becomes highly aggressive, a proper commitment from school and positive relationship from their peers will definitely help in overcoming the aggressive behavior in teenagers.
