Part of the role of the registered nurse is the education of people regarding stoma management and the appliances required to manage these stomas. Stomas often have complex pathophysiological processes and to provide person-centred care and to promote decision making, people with a stoma should be provided with information on the stoma and any appliances they are using. Instructions: Select one (1) type of Stoma we have covered in the unit and create an educational resource appropriate for nurses including the type of stoma is, complications (2-3), pathological cause and two (2) appropriate appliances for management. This educational resource should include: 1. What type of Stoma and why its required (pathophysiology explained in appropriate terms for nurses) 2. Complications (2-3) (linking to pathophysiology where possible), also what are 2 management strategies. 3. 3. Two (2) appropriate appliances including how they work, what they are for, benefits/pros/cons 4. This educational resource should be: · 2 x A4 pages in length, plus an additional page for references · Visually appealing with images (referenced images) · Use language that is both person-centred and appropriate for Nurses · Supported by quality, peer reviewed references from appropriate sources that are cited as numbers on your resource. · Your reference list should be in APA 7. You can use a numbered system in your brochure. For example, instead of typing Smith et al., (2018). If Smith et al, is number 10 in your end text list you can use the number (10). This will reduce your brochure looking full of references. · You must use one article from · The journal of stomal therapy Australia · Journal of stoma, ostomy, and continence nursing
