Part B | Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ASTI) Healthcare

Australia’s first people are the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people that may be referred to as Indigenous Australians. More often, due to the cultural divide and the ability to access services due to remote locations, Indigenous Australians are not able to make good use of community service offerings.
You are to develop a short response identifying and discussing the following points in terms of the historical issues and current issues related to the health care environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Your response must be 400-600 words inclusive:

• The historical healthcare (and related) issues and conditions that have shaped relationships with Aboriginal and Torres strait islander people,
• The current issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people related to healthcare issues,
• The way in which our western and mainstream health systems and structures impact and or effect Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their engagement with community service offerings,
• Identify health care service offerings that may benefit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people engage with health care service offerings in the future,
• Conduct additional research to support your brief (evidence based) and must you must reference research sources.
