Task 1.1 – Data collection

Individual task as part of the class group.
Submission: of excel worksheet on BB
Length: 5 rows of data per student (note that some data may be ‘missing’).
The purpose of this task is to make sure that everyone is familiar with types of data, how to collect data and enter onto a data collection sheet, and we will use this to practice some formula’s in excel. It is also to make sure you have a chance to become familiar with how the Islands simulation works before you start planning your project, the data we are collecting here will be part of your topic choices for the project.

Description:

The Islands Public Health Unit wants to collect prevalence data of certain conditions of the Islanders. They believe that the town of Arcadia situated on the middle Island will be approximately representative of all the Islanders and want to carry out a comprehensive cross-sectional study across all age groups even though some conditions may be more relevant to some groups than others.
You are a research assistant working as part of a team from Arcadia University to collect prevalence data relating to some health indicators of the Islanders. You will visit 5 houses and collect relevant data using a survey.
