Gallup Strengths Quest Test | Assignment Help
Talking about the Gallup Strengths Quest, it can easily be said that it is a very helpful tool as it helps student to guide towards their inner skills and other talents that they have but are not yet identified. As stated by Bartz, & Doctor, (2017), with the help of this Gallup test, one can extract information on four main themes that are (i) executing, (ii) influencing, (iii) relationship building and (iv) strategic thinking.
I initially thought the test would be easy and won’t take much time, but once I started with the test only then I realized that it is very time consuming though only 20 seconds were given to answer each question. According to Bowera & Lopez, (2010), by applying test results to develop strengths, students are likely to be successful. The test was really helpful, as by asking simple questions, I got to know a lot about myself which I didn’t knew before or at least wasn’t aware of.
After giving the test, the result came out in the form of five attributes, namely realtor, ideation, focus, responsibility and deliberative. Through the relator it highlighted many positive attributes in me, for example the fact that many people want to work with me and that is mainly because of my openness and the willing to help others around me. I may not have a big social circle, but when it comes to giving a helping hand to someone at work, I am all up for it. Because of my sensitive nature, which I do have, the test highlighted the fact that because of this specific attribute it motivates me to do certain things better than how I have done in the past, which again is very true. Through ideation, I realized that yes, I do want a change every now and then and that is more for my personal growth overall. When it comes to working on specific projects, or tasks, specially the one’s that are of more interest to me, I’m very much focused on it than. Because of my eagerness and the habit of getting things done I sometimes take out time to learn new things in order to do be able to do those things. Another attribute of the test was responsibility, in which I had no surprises at all, I prefer working with specific people and not with everyone. I usually don’t prefer telling any lies, instead I prefer honesty. Last attribute of the test, which is deliberative, it has highlighted few things which I wasn’t really aware of. For example, I take a lot of time to make decisions, which I always assumed is because of my age, but according to the test its more because of the fact that I like to analyze and study about things before making any decision. So, in simple words, this test was very helpful and same was stated by Wisner (2011) in his paper that states that, this model can be used in order to improve your leadership.
