Introduction:
Olympics is the epitome of the athletic sports and has been hosted in different countries since decades. Olympics is hosted once in every four years, in the year 2028, LA has been given the responsibility to host the Olympics for the third time. The first LA Olympics was held in 1932 and then in 1984, it is a great achievement for the city to be hosting it for the third time (Payne, 2017). The LA Olympics in 1984 was a huge success and it was among the few cities that wasn’t in any debt after the event ended (Pacheco, 2019).
During the 1932 LA Olympics the Community Development Association wanted to promote tourism in the city. Despite the fact that only four years ago the stock market of USA crashed the city with less resources made the Olympics a success and marked itself as a developing city on the map. The motto of the Olympics 1932 was the branding of the city and provide a unique experience to the athletes. This was a step towards for the future to allow the city to host the Olympics in the coming years and the vision became reality when the city hosted the games in 1984 and will host in 2028 (Noor, 2020). It has been reported that the management for the Olympics 2028 in LA has started preparations as soon as the city was accepted as a host. Around 6.9 billion dollars have been set aside for the budget of Olympic Games (The Straits Times, 2019). As the time for Olympics 2028 in the city is near the businesses especially the tourism and hospitality industry will have an inflow of the athletes and spectators (Smith, 2018). The report will portray a hospitality business and how can the hotel business have a greater impact through the Olympic games.
Current Business:
The present business of mine in Los Angeles is a three-star hotel, this business comes under the hospitality sector. The location of the business is Orange County which is the most unique location for a hotel as it has a beach view in front of it. Many of the hospitality businesses are taking actions for the Olympics 2028 that will take place in summers which is perfect for hotels with a beach view as water sports would take place in this area only. My hospitality business was established by my father who wanted to see his hotel evolve and develop into a large-scale business. The hotel was established in 2005 and is catering to the Americans and tourists since it came into being. The other details about hotels are given below:
Mission:
The mission of the hospitality business is to fulfill the needs and expectations of the customers by providing them with high quality services. The objective of the business to be a known hospitality business in the area.
Vision:
The vision of the business is to strive for good quality hospitality services and preserve the name of the business in Orange County. The business frequently uses tools and technologies that ae favorable to the environment and doesn’t negatively impact the nature of the surroundings. Moreover, we rely on the values taught by the founders of the hotel that is to make the guest comfortable and provide them with high quality services. Our key vision is to walk with the modernization that is to adjust ourselves with advancements introduced in the hospitality industry.
Currently employed:
There are about fifty workers employed that include fifteen full time workers and the rest part time or casual workers. The latter include clerks, night managers, night receptionist, housekeepers and porters. Many of them are college students as they need extra cash for their expenses. The full time include general managers, head chef, sous chef, day managers and etc.

In every sector price and value are the most important factor when it comes to purchasing the product or service. The tourists of today are ready to pay more for a service or a product but they expect that product or service to be of high quality. There are five main features through which the entrepreneurs can charge more from the customers with a high price, they are:
- Tangible Location: this includes external premises, public location, architecture and hygiene.
- Food and Beverage services: hygiene, environment, quality of food, and room service
- Social Services: comfortable welcome of the customers, helpful, competence and concentration.
- Functional services: efficacy, pace of the service and checking in and out of the hotel.
- Room Design: size of the bed, room instruments, entertainment, ventilation and comfort (Kapiki, 2012).
Technology:
This era is all about technology and technological advancements that makes life easier for the individuals. Technology has been adopted by different sectors around the world to fulfill the needs and expectation of the customers. The hospitality industry scan benefit from technology through social media that is the tourists can recommend the hotels or restaurant in different countries that others can visit (Anawade & Bendale, 2016).
Transport:
Transport is also considered a main trend in the hospitality industry, tourists enjoy different modes of transportation like cycling, use tramps, trains, ships or automatic automobiles. Cycling and walking has a low negative impact on the environment as there are no emissions by utilizing these modes (Anawade & Bendale, 2016).
Safety and security:
There has been a concern about the security of the guests and tourists after major attacks on some of the tourists in other countries. There should be proper plan for any future threat or an attack that is possible in some marginalized countries. The tourists and guests must be secured at all times and this matter should be the hotel’s preference among many other trends (Kapiki, 2012).
Diversity:
The hospitality industry should accept individuals belonging to different culture, religion and color. This industry is said to be the most diversified industry as the tourists belong to a different country and have visited another country to explore its beauty and culture. The hospitality employers and employees should be understanding and welcome these individuals (Kapiki, 2012).
There are many trends in the hospitality industry, few of them are mentioned above. Through these trends the hospitality business can develop opportunities for it when Olympics 2028 starts. The business will have full security because there would many spectators from different countries supporting the athletes. They will need security because this is a good chance for thugs and robbers to loot from the spectators. This will put a good impression about the hotel as they have provided full security to the tourists and spectators.
The employees in the hospitality business are diverse who will accept the diversified tourists and make them comfortable as much as possible. Some might speak in a same language that will make the tourists comfortable and would recommend or even visit the state in the future. Among the different modes of transport cycling and walking would be utilized the most as cars and other types of transport are not permissible on the beach. The tourists who love to walk or cycle on the beach would love this hotel because it is the perfect place to do these. Moreover, the tourists that would visit LA for Olympics would also visit the beach for sightseeing or just to freshen up which will also make them curious to visit the hotel if they want to spend the rest of their vacation here. The trends will also help the hospitality business in the future as it will strengthen the hotel business under the different trends like long term security and the acceptance of diversity by the workers to make the customers comfortable. This will be such a good experience for the customers that on their next trip they will stay in the hotel.
