Project Objective

To create a written business plan (using the lean canvas approach) that supports the business concept your group has developed, building on the feedback received from the business pitch assignment and from testing with your key customer segment/s.

Submission guidelines

• The assignment centres on the lean canvas sections and tools introduced through this
• The document must be between 2,000 and 2,500 words (equivalent to 500 words per student).
• You should personalise the business plan to suit your business
• In terms of your audience, you should write your business plan as if it is being submitted to a potential
• As a formal business document, include a table of contents and page Appropriate referencing protocols should be applied. References are not included in the word count.
• Please apply professional standards when developing your document.

Business plan should include (but not limited to) the following elements

1. Executive Summary
2. Introductory statement identifying the ‘problem’ you have focused on
3. Use case diagrams and wireframes
4. Lean Canvas sections including:
   1. Problem
   2. Customer segment/s
   3. Solution
   4. Unique value proposition
   5. Channels
   6. Unfair advantage
   7. Revenue stream/s
   8. Key metrics
   9. Cost structure
5. Market scan, including competitors and how your product differs from these
6. Evidence of customer segment engagement and how this feedback informed your solution
7. Prototype of solution (Provide screenshots and include the link to the prototype)
8. Summary pitch for potential investors

Additional materials developed through the semester may be submitted as an appendix but will not be included in the word count or as part of the assessment.

Assessment

Feedback will be provided within 3 weeks of submission.

Penalties will be applied to late assignments (5% of total possible marks for that task deducted per day, up to 5 days after the due date only). Assignments submitted more than five working days after the due date will not be accepted.

This assignment is worth 10% of your subject grade. The assignment will be assessed on:

• Demonstrated understanding of the problem as it relates to key customer segment/s (earlyvangelists)
• Demonstrated understanding of each component of the lean canvas, tailored to your business concept and market
• Demonstrated progression of solution concept as it relates to the problem for key customer segment/s, including evidence of customer feedback
• Application of use case diagrams and/or wire frames as well as prototyping to demonstrate your concept
• Overall value proposition of your business idea/product for your customers and potential investors
• Overall business presentation, including layout, writing style, spelling, and grammar.
